IV. The Political Solutions to Cease
Fire in Gaza and End the War in the Middle East
1. Hamas Needs to Release All Hostages and Renounce its Genocidal Goal of Eliminating Israel from the Middle East
To end this war between Israel and Hamas, Hamas as the initiator of the war should release all the hostages they abducted from Israel on October 7, 2023, and renounce its genocidal goal of
eliminating Israel from the Middle East. No one will make peace with the enemy who vows to kill all his people.
When the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) was founded in 1964, it also had a goal of the elimination of the State of Israel. But after thirty years of military struggles, they found out that genocidal goal could only cause more miserable life for the Palestinian people. That’s why they signed the Oslo
I Accord with Israel in 1993 recognizing Israel's right to exist in peace and renouncing "terrorism and other acts of violence" against Israel.
Unfortunately, Hamas repeated the same mistakes of PLO in the early days and insisted on the elimination of the State of Israel as their ultimate goal. They even developed the new strategy of suicide bombing for terrorist attacks targeting Israeli
civilians during the "Second Intifada" from 2000 to 2005. After they took power from Fatah in 2006, Hamas still refused to renounce the "terrorism and other acts of violence" against Israel. Then Israel shut down the pass between Israel and the Gaza Strip and implemented a blockade against Gaza after Israel
unilaterally pulled out of the Gaza Strip.
From 2006 to 2023, Hamas received billions of dollar from the UN and other humanitarian organizations. Instead of using these money to improve the lives of Palestinian people, they used the money to build a massive network of underground tunnels and smuggled thousands of rockets preparing the attacks against Israel. On October 7, 2023, Hamas carried out the terrorist attacks against Israel and killed about 1200 Israelis. The consequence is that Israel launched counterattacks and eliminated almost all the military facilities of Hamas in the Gaza Strip except Rafah in the
south end of the Gaza Strip. Many civilian facilities in Gaza were also destroyed as the collateral damages of this war.
Therefore, to make peace between Israel and Palestine, Hamas and the future Palestinian government in Gaza should renounce their genocidal goal of eliminating the State of Israel and recognize Israel’s right to exist like Fatah does. There will be no peace if Hamas insists on its genocidal goal of eliminating the State of Israel. It will be a good thing to let Palestinian Authority and non-military Palestinian parties participate in the future government of the Gaza Strip.
2. Israel Should Provide More Humanitarian Aid to Palestinian People
In the last seven months of the military conflicts in Gaza since Israel started
retaliatory bombardment after Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, over 40% of homes and civilian infrastructures in the Gaza Strip had been destroyed and over 1.8 million Gazans had been displaced across the Gaza Strip. With the continuous military conflicts and tightened blockade in the Gaza Strip, Gaza people have severe food shortages and the majority of them are suffering in starvation and extreme hunger. If this situation continues, there will be many Palestinian people die of starvation in the Gaza Strip. That will be bad karma for Israel.
As the majority of Hamas militants have
been destroyed in Gaza, except some remaining in Rafah, it’s time for Israel to open up the border for more international humanitarian aid to Gaza and provide more humanitarian aid to Gaza people in Israeli controlled areas in the Gaza Strip. If Israel distrusts the UN agency for Palestinian Refugees, UNRWA, for its past collaboration with Hamas on misusing humanitarian aid for military purpose, Israel can form a new humanitarian organization with its western allies and neighboring Arab nations to provide more essential and life-saving humanitarian aid to the Palestinians in the Gaza Stripe.
3. Form the Joint Government to Rebuild the Gaza Stripe
Since the Israeli government unilaterally dismantled 21 Israeli settlements in the Gaza Strip and pulled its military forces completely out of Gaza in 2005, Palestinians have had the opportunity for full autonomy and self-governance for the past 18 years. But instead of economic development for a better life, Hamas used the funds from international donations to build a massive network of underground tunnels and smuggle weapons and rockets into Gaza to prepare the terrorist attacks against Israel.
In the end, it led to Hamas’ terrorist attack on October 7, 2023, which killed about 1,200 Israelis and abducted about 250 Israelis as hostages, and caused huge damage to Gaza in the following retaliatory bombardment from Israel. If Hamas or other extremist militants get their hands on some nuclear weapons, there could be a catastrophic disaster with over one million casualties in Gaza and in Israel.
The last eighteen years of experience has proved that letting extremist militant groups rule the Gaza Strip is very
damaging and hurtful to both Palestinian and Israeli people. Therefore, it’s time for Israel to work with the Palestinian Authority and other non-hostile Palestinians to form a joint government to rebuild the war-torn Gaza Strip. The Gaza Strip has a great potential to become a world class tourist destination with beautiful beaches and ocean views of the Mediterranean Sea. It will create a lot of job opportunities for Palestinians and greatly improve the financial situation for the Gaza Strip.
Gaza Beach
Since Palestinians don't have the
financing resources and development expertise to rebuild Gaza into a world class tourist
destination, they should get over the resentment and hatred in their hearts to work with Israelis to rebuild the war-torn Gaza Strip.
A nation living in hatred will never have the future of prosperity.
Israelis should also treat Palestinians fairly with human dignity to rebuild the Gaza Strip together. Poverty and unemployment will turn many young Palestinians into extremist militants and terrorists. Helping Palestinians to rebuild the Gaza Strip and providing more job opportunities to Palestinians are also helping Israelis to have a safer environment. It will be a win-win situation for both Israelis and Palestinians.
4. Start Rebuilding the Gaza
Strip, not another Middle East War
Recently, Yemen's Houthis rebels
launched missile attacks on US Aircraft Carrier and UK Warships in the Red Sea.
They also joined the military operations with the Iraqi Islamic Resistance
attacking ships at Israel's Haifa port. On the north front of Israel, Lebanon's Hezbollah militias
launched drone strikes hitting some civilian targets well into Israel. Israel
also prepared for the war with Hezbollah. The tension in the Middle East is
escalating toward a full scale Middle East War.
As the military conflict in Gaza has
already caused 36,000 casualties since October 7, 2023, the full scale war
between Israel and its neighboring countries could cause much higher casualties,
up to hundreds of thousands casualties like what happened in the war in Ukraine.
In the recent history of the Middle East, the Syrian Civil War in 2011 caused
over 500,000 casualties and the Yemen Civil War in 2015 caused over 377,000
casualties. The next full scale Middle East War could far exceed these numbers
of casualties.
Therefore, it's important for both
Israel and the neighboring countries to de-escalate the tension in the Middle
East to prevent another Middle East War. Currently, most countries in the world
are against Israel because they have sympathy for the Palestinian people. It's
time for the Israeli government to rethink their exit strategy on this war in
Gaza.
Instead of starting another war with
Hezbollah or Houthis, Israel should start rebuilding the Gaza Strip, starting
from the northern part of Gaza where Hamas is no longer in control of the area.
Once the rebuilding process starts, more countries will participate in the
rebuilding process and provide more humanitarian aid to Palestinians. Then the
military tension will be reduced and a full scale war in the Middle East could
be avoided.
These four advices above are the political solutions to end the war and rebuild the Gaza Strip. However, to permanently end the war for the lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians, they need to learn the New Revelation of God for the spiritual reconciliation with each other. Since both Israelis and Palestinians have strong faith in God, here is the Divine Revelation of Peace Messiah on the spiritual solution to end the conflicts between Israelis and Palestinians permanently.
